ESAB Completes Brand Transition to Exaton™ Name For Portfolio of Stainless, Nickel And Specialty Alloys

Annapolis Junction, Md. – ESAB Welding & Cutting Products today announced that it has finalized the transition to the Exaton™ brand name for all welding filler metals involved with its 2018 acquisition of Sandvik Welding Consumables. For the North American region, the new naming conventions are as follows:

For stainless consumables, the Sandvik name has been replaced with the Exaton followed by the AWS / ASME classification of the product. For example, Sandvik 317L is now Exaton 317L. Cutmaster 40 Plasma Cutter Delivers More Power, Performance for Portable Plasma Applications

Annapolis Junction, Md. – Thermal Dynamics®, an ESAB brand, today launched its Cutmaster® 40 manual plasma cutting system, successor of the Cutmaster 42. The power source weighs 22 lbs., has the flexibility to use 115V – 230V primary power and delivers a rated output of 40 amps at 40 percent duty-cycle or better.

On 230V primary, it delivers a recommended cut and pierce capacity on 1/2-in. steel and can sever steel up to 1 in. On 115V primary, it delivers a recommended cut and pierce on 3/8-in. steel. AMI Launches Exclusive ORBISTAR Tungsten Electrodes For Enhanced Orbital TIG Equipment Performance

Annapolis Junction, Md. – AMI, an ESAB brand, has collaborated with Wolfram Industrie, a vertically integrated manufacturer of premium tungsten and molybdenum materials, to offer an exclusive line of tungsten electrodes for orbital TIG welding. The AMI-Wolfram Industrie ORBISTAR® series of pre-ground tungsten electrodes can last more than two times longer than other tungstens and reduce arc fault failures by up to 80 percent.
