EXATON 19.9.NB HF Wire with Niobium and High Ferrite Prevents Cracking in Multi-Pass Stainless Steel Saw Applications
ESAB has introduced Exaton 19.9.Nb HF, classified as an AWS A5.9: ER347 as well as an EN ISO 14343-A S 19 9 Nb, is a 300 series austenitic steel submerged arc welding wire with niobium and high ferrite to further increase weld deposit mechanical properties at elevated temperature. It is ideal for stainless steel applications on pressure vessels (e.g. for components requiring cladding restoration) and other thick plate applications requiring multiple passes (e.g. at pipe mills performing longitudinal welds). “As phosphorus and sulfur levels or other impurities increase, increasing the ferrite content helps resist weld cracking, especially in multi-pass welds,” says Paolo Torchiana, Global Product ...
ESAB SquareCut Technology Doubles Cut Speed, Improves Edge Quality And Hole Cylindricity in Automated Plasma Applications
Annapolis Junction, Md. – Building on the success of its DMX Automated Plasma Beveller, ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has launched SquareCut Technology to further improve the productivity of automated plasma cutting operations. SquareCut Technology tilts the torch to compensate for the 1- to 3-degree edge angle inherent in high-precision plasma cutting to provide three distinct benefits:
A High-Speed Mode cuts up to two times faster without increasing bevel angle. A Quality Mode creates a cut surface with a 0 to 1 degree bevel. Improved Enhanced Hole Technology cuts smaller holes with better cylindricity. SquareCut Technology works with ESAB’s Columbus® CAD/CAM software, Vision ...
Users can “parallel” two iSeries power sources to cut non-ferrous metal up to 6.25 in.; system offers flexibility to use two units together or operate them independently.Annapolis Junction, Md. – For increased productivity when automated plasma cutting, ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has launched enhanced versions of its 200-, 300- and 400-amp versions iSeries high-precision plasma power sources to double cutting output to 400, 600 or 800 amps, respectively. The new capability, standard on iSeries systems, requires using matching consumables, a connection kit with cabling and associated software for the controller. “The concept is similar to paralleling two welding power sources to use ...
Annapolis Junction, Md. – Stoody®, an ESAB brand, announced that Stoody HB-64 cored wire has been awarded Fearnley Procter NS-1 Level 2 certification for oil field hardbanding application and reapplication. Stoody HB-64 (60 to 64 Rockwell C hardness) is a tool steel alloy enhanced with niobium carbide for superior performance and crack-free harbanding. Its specially formulated wear resistant alloy composition produces a uniform distribution of small primary metal carbides in a martensitic matrix. Stoody HB-64 provides a weld deposit with a low coefficient of friction to reduce tool joint and casing wear. It shows excellent abrasion resistance under the hardbanding conditions. Stoody HB-64 is ...
