ESAB Launches 2015 Student Cutting, Welding And Essay Contest

Florence, SC - ESAB today launched its 2015 "A Cut Above" student contest, which is open to students in welding, cutting and related programs (e.g., Ag Mechanics) at secondary and post-secondary schools. ESAB will award more than $30,000 in equipment and cash prizes as part of the contest — visit www.esab.com/acutabove for contest rules, entry forms and tips for winning. Entries will be accepted until December 31, 2015, with winners announced on February 1, 2016.

The contest has two categories, individual essay and team fabrication project, and ESAB judges will select three winners in each category. Individuals will win $250 by submitting a 500-word essay that best supports the contest ...

ESAB ET 220i and 301i AC/DC TIG/Stick Welding Systems Offer Full Digital Control, Input Power Flexibility and Portability

Florence, SC – ESAB today introduced the ET 220i AC/DC and ET 301i AC/DC inverter-based welding systems, which offer full digital control of the TIG (GTAW) and Stick (MMA/SMAW) welding arc, input power flexibility and lightweight portability. Advanced TIG features include pulsing the AC or DC output from 0.2 to 2000 Hz, an AC output frequency adjustable from 30 to 200 Hz, an AC balance control adjustable from 10 to 90 percent, the ability to tailor arc starts and welding performance based on electrode diameter and a Tiptronic function that saves parameters for 100 TIG welding jobs. Florence, SC – ESAB today introduced the Warrior® Feed 404 HD, a heavy-duty bench-top wire feeder designed to feed .030- to 3/32-in. wire at speeds of 50 to 800 ipm in applications such high-volume fabrication, structural steel fabrication, heavy fabrication (transportation, off-highway, railcar), ship building and others.
