Move Over Solid Wires, ESAB’s Coreweld® C-6 Boosts Productivity

FLORENCE, SC – ESAB Welding & Cutting Products is pleased to announce the latest addition to its line of E70C-6M metal cored wires: Coreweld® C-6.

“We designed this new wire especially for high productivity applications such as the automotive industry,” says Dwight Myers, ESAB’s Product Business Manager for Cored Wires. “We understand that this and similar industries require a wire that offers the high deposition rate of a metal cored wire, for increased productivity, and the high deposition efficiency of a solid MIG wire. By combining these qualities, Coreweld C-6 helps operators cut production costs, while achieving excellent weld results,” Myers adds. Coreweld C-6 is ideal for robotic, automatic, and hand-held welding in auto manufacturing, rail car production and other similar applications.

ESAB’s Coreweld C-6 is able to achieve its high deposition efficiency thanks to a specially formulated composite filler. The high travel speeds possible with this wire make Coreweld C-6 ideal for robotic and automated applications,” says Myers.

This new wire offers wider operating parameters in both pulse and CVCC mode. Coreweld C-6 also produces low spatter and few silicon islands, and it handles rust and mill scale with good wetting and tie in.

ESAB has long been a leader in the development of metal cored wires that help operators increase efficiency, profitability and welding ease. Coreweld C-6 joins the company’s other E70C-6M metal cored wires – Coreweld Ultra (ideal for applications that require extra low fume generation) and Coreweld 70 (for a wide range of applications including welding on steel with rust and mill scale).

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has been a leader in the business for nearly 100 years. Currently, they are one of the world’s largest manufacturers of welding and cutting equipment, and welding filler metals.
