the work may be positioned other than at 45o

The welding wire is positioned so that its centerline
intersects the joint near its center. The wire may have

Lateral Tilt Circumferential
welding on rotated sections usually does not require any lateral tilt of the welding
wire. c. Forward
or Backward Point A
backward point of the welding wire is used on outside circumferential welds as
shown in Fig. 26a; a forward
point is used on inside welds as shown in 26b.
