All-State® Glidearc Special Vertical Position Stainless Steel Electrode AC or DC Reverse (+) General Characteristics This is a unique fast-freeze electrode that has a special coating that simplifies vertical down and up welding of thin to medium gauge molybdenum bearing stainless steels. It is ideal for poor fit-up joints in all positions. Typical Applications Excellent for maintenance of corrosion resistant stainless steel parts that must be welded in position as found in the following: paper mills, food processing plants, breweries, distilleries, slaughter houses, dairies and commercial food canneries. Extra low carbon composition aids in preventing carbide precipitation. Qualities Tensile strength —up to 80,000 psi (55 kg/mm2) Yield strength —up to 56,000 psi (39 kg/mm2) Elongation —42% Procedures Clean base metal. For vertical welding, set amperage at high end of the scale. Maintain a sharp angle with the electrode pointing upward. Quickly whip the electrode back and forth while moving up or down. Diameters and Recommended Amperages 3/32" (2.4 mm)—80 1/8" (3.2 mm)—110 Identification All-State Glidearc printed on electrode coating and package. Packaging All sizes in 5-lb. (2.27 kg) containers.
