5 All-State®
No. 107 Medium
Temperature Soft Solder Silver
Bearing Torch,
Furnace or Induction Heating General
Characteristics All-State®
107 is for medium temperature soldering of most ferrous and non-ferrous metals
and combinations of
these. Typical
Applications Commonly
used to join aluminum cable to copper lugs where electrical conductivity and corrosion
resistance must be
very high. The refrigeration and air conditioning industries use this alloy for
joining aluminum to steel, copper, monel,
and 304 stainless steel. Qualities:
Tensile strength
up to 20,000 psi (14.06 kgs/mm2)
(.003" max fit-up) Solidus
480°F (249°C)
Liquidus
600°F
(316°C) Corrosion
resistance very good Procedures
Thoroughly degrease and remove surface
debris. Maximum joint clearance should be .003". Use jigs and clamps
to align parts and prevent movement
while solder is liquid. Paint joint area with All-State®
107 Flux. Heat with soft flame
indirectly applied to prevent alcohol diluted flux from igniting, when flux begins
to bubble, add sufficient alloy to
completely fill joint. Remove heat and allow to cool. Remove Flux residue with
hot water.
