9 All-State® No. 125 Economical Silver Brazing Alloy For Torch, Furnace, Induction or Resistance Heating Methods General Characteristics All-State® 125 is a cadmium free 25% silver filler metal with limited ductility for both ferrous and non-ferrous metal joining where high ductility and impact strength is not a necessity. Joint color as brazed is a light yellow. Medium plastic range. Typical Applications Recommended for steel and copper alloys including most brasses. However, moderate ductility feature requires that dissimilar metal joints be in compression while cooling. Lower silver content limits joint design to close fit-ups. Qualities Tensile strength —up to 50,000 psi (35.16 kgs/mm2) Working Temperature —1265°-1430° F (685°-777° C) Corrosion resistance —good AWS A5.8, Class BAg-37 Procedures Thoroughly clean parts to be brazed. Joint clearance should not exceed .003". Apply All-State 110 or S-200 paste flux to joint area. Heat joint area rapidly with slightly carburizing flame until flux turns clear. Melt off enough 125 alloy to fill joint completely. Keep torch in constant motion so as not to overheat. Maximum brazing temperature is 1600° F. Allow to cool slowly; remove flux residue with hot water. Sizes 1/16" (1.6 mm) in 4 oz. (.11 kg) coils and 2 oz. (.06 kg) kits with 1 oz. jar of 110 flux.
