12 All-State® Aluminum Products for Gas Shielded Arc Welding — MIG and TIG General Characteristics of All-State® 1100, 4043 and 5356 Aluminum These fine wires are manufactured to exacting standards, using state-of-the-art drawing and spooling machinery, providing the best dimensional, mechanical and metallurgical controls. Product tolerances and patented feedability, and surface conditions, provide excellent feeding, constant penetration, and arc stability. Die-shaved and level- layer wound.Continuously inspected throughout their manufacturing cycle. 1100, 4043, and 5356 MIG and TIG cut lengths meet AWS A5.10 specifications. Description All-State® 1100 Provides excellent ductility, corrosion resistance, performance at elevated temperatures and color match after anodizing. Good strength and ease of welding. Use when joining 1100 aluminum to itself or 3003, 3004, 5005, and ALCLAD 3003. Also good for 1060, 1070, 1080 and 1350 alloys. Description All-State® 4043 Alloy 4043 is one of the oldest and most widely used welding alloys.  The silicon additions result in improved fluidity (wetting action) to make the alloy a preferred choice by welders. The alloy is less sensitive to weld cracking and produces brighter, almost smut free welds. Limitations of this alloy are, unsuitability for post weld anodizing, color match, and should not be used for welding 5XXX series base alloys with more than 3% Mg content. Description All-State® 5356 Alloy 5356 was designed originally for welding 5XXX® series base alloys, providing good strength and when used as a MIG electrode, good feedability.  Typically used on 5XXX series alloys welded to themselves or to the 6XXX series heat treatable alloys.  One important limitation of this filler alloy, because of its 5% Mg content, is its unsuitablity for use on components operating at service temperature exceeding 1500F.
