Procedures For best results, set wire amperage and adjust voltage for smoothest operation. Use 98% Argon-2% Oxygen shielding gas. Wire will also operate in the short circuiting mode or with pulse arc, and under these conditions, may be usable out-of-position. Observe the usual precautions on preheat, joint preparation, and welding technique used with other cast iron welding processes. Light peening of each bead will reduce internal stresses and minimize cracking tendencies. Diameters and Recommended Amperages .035"   ( .9mm) — 27 volts — 160 amps .045"   (1.2mm) — 28 volts — 230 amps 1/16"   (1.6mm) — 28 volts — 300 amps 3/32"   (2.4mm) — 30 volts — 400 amps Packaging .035" (.9 mm) and .045" (1.2 mm) in 10 lb. (4.54 kg) and 25 lb. (11.34 kg) spools. 1/16" (1.6 mm) in 25 lb. (11.34 kg) spools, 3/32" (2.4 mm) in 60 lb. (27.22 kg) coils.
