Characteristics: Core-Cast®
8600 is a composite wire made to join cast iron to itself or mild steel as well
as repair and overlay cast iron.
Deposits a nominal 55% iron - 1% C - balance nickel, machinable weld metal. Deposition
efficiency is very high,
over 95%, giving more weld deposit per pound of wire used.
Typical Applications
Core-Cast®
8600 is excellent for repair welding on highway vehicles, farm machinery, construction
equipment, mining
equipment and machine tools. Can be used for joining cast iron to mild steel,
repairing damaged castings and
overlaying of worn areas on castings, molds and pumps. Qualities
