Safety Appendices All-State® No. 8-60 Electrode for Welding Heavy Sections of Cast Iron and Ductile Iron AC or DC Reverse Polarity (Electrode + ) All Position General Characteristics All-State® No. 8-60 for large volume welders offers a machinable deposit with high strength and good ductility. This 55% nickel electrode can be used on production jobs involving heavy sections. Typical Applications Used to repair and cover defects in heavy sections of gray and alloy cast irons such as machine bases, gears, motor blocks and gear cases. It will also give strong, dense welds on irons with high phosphorus content, ductile iron and in joining these irons to steels. Qualities Tensile strength—up to 80,000 psi (56.26 kgs/mm2) Yield strength—up to 60,000 psi (42.19 kgs/mm2) Elongation in 2"—4 to 12% Hardness—200 to 300 BrineIl Deposit—magnetic Color match—good AWS A5.15, Class ENiFe-CI-A
