Safety precautions
1. Keep equipment
in good, clean, dry condition. 2.
Make sure all electrical connections are tight, clean
and dry. 3. Use
correct size welding cable - don't overload. 4.
Be sure cables, holder, and connections
are properly insulated. 5.
Cut off power to welder before cleaning machine or making
internal adjustments. 6.
Never change polarity while machine is under load.
7. Observe normal
operating care for electrical hazards. 8.
Keep work area neat, clean and dry.
9. Remove flammable
materials from welding area, or shield them. 10.
Don't weld near volatile, flammable liquids
or gases. 11. Don't
weld or cut on containers such as drums, barrels, or tanks until you know
there is no danger of fire or explosion.
(See A.W.S. bulletin - Safe Practices for Welding and Cutting Containers That
Have Held Combustibles.)
12. Dispose of
hot electrode stubs in a metal container. 13.
Never strike an arc on a compressed gas
cylinder. 14. Protect
your eyes from rays of the arc. Wear a headshield with the proper filter plates
when welding or cutting.
